Handheld Reader

Since the introduction of using RFID tags for the identification of vehicles, there has been a demand to be able to carry out checks on the tag's reliability and read range, without the need for the vehicle to pass a fixed reader. This has not always been convenient, and consequently, these checks were not always carried out regularly.

Mirrabooka trialled a device that has been approved for Australian operation. This unit communicates to an Android Application to display the tag read details. This app has been modified to filter the tag information to display the stored fleet number, with further changes planned to access the vehicle database to show the full vehicle details.
